A couple things happened around my 40th birthday. First I hit the big 4-0 and then it passed. I also reinjured my knee. I've always thought I was relatively fit and then in 2013 I tore my meniscus in my left knee. I had already torn my ACL from a college sports injury. Well after that I wasn't able to work out. I ended up having reconstruction and then went through rehab. I'm glad to say that the knee has been good. However during that time I slipped out of my good habits. Life with my job and kids took over and I wasn't paying attention to me. 40 came and went, I added on a few, okay a lot of pounds. My clothes were snug and I wasn't feeling right. So I decided to try to make an attempt to get back in shape. Dr. Shannon and I were discussing options and timing. Ideal Protein came up. Her office was an authorized clinic a few years ago. But with staff changes and healthcare changes we moved away. We contacted them again and decided to go all in. This was also a great time to dive into it myself. And I am pleased to say that I have moved on from Phase I to Phase II. During Phase ,I I was able to lose over 25 pounds and 7% Body Fat. I feel much, much better and I am back into some old clothes. I look forward to getting into Maintenance with my new habits and back to working out again.
